Sleep

Can I just say that I LOVE that Cole sleeps now? He was a great sleeper from about 3 weeks up until 4 months and then around 4.5 months Cole hit a HUGE sleep regression which lasted over two months. It was an incredibly difficult time for Jake and I (to say the least). Cole was not only waking every 2 hours at night but ALSO was unhappy 75% of his waking hours, if not more. But then, as if by some miracle, Cole started to sleep better and better from 7 to 8 months.

It was at this point we started rigorous sleep training with the guidance of an amazing sleep consultant (our 3rd try at sleep training). She knew EXACTLY what he needed, and we followed her advice to the letter. Now at 9 months Cole goes to bed on his own with minimal crying (less than 15 minutes, typically closer to 5 or 10 minutes) for both naps and bedtime and no longer needs to be rocked and/or nursed to sleep. His bedtime is 8pm and he wakes up at 7am. I never thought I would be at this point back at 5 months. He is still an unhappy baby, but he gets more sleep than most happy ones! :-D
