Impending Doom

Although Cole does not typically sleep well, over the last two weeks he has DRASTICALLY improved in this department. He no longer wakes up in the middle of the night for a feeding and now sleeps 10 to 12 hours in a ROW! Of course this is ironic because we officially begin our sleep training regimen this coming Friday evening with the help of sleep consultant Dawnn Whittaker.

I do think that this will be exactly what Cole needs to develop more healthy sleep habits and associations in the long run, but I have no doubt that the first three weeks of this will be a living hell. Dawnn has designed a plan specific to Cole's needs and eventually he will thank us for going through with it. We have chosen to go with a gradual withdrawl method that involves Jake sitting next to the crib until Cole falls asleep each night and then moving the chair further and further away at different increments. Although some call this a "no-cry method," there is no method that will not produce tears where Cole is concerned.

On a MUCH lighter note, congratulations to Luke and Ashley Ernstberger on the birth of their first baby, Noelle Elizabeth. She was born March 11th weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces and 21 inches long.
