Catching Up

Today was an EXCELLENT day for Cole! We started out by heading up to St. Vincent to attend the weekly Breastfeeding Support Group where he was incredibly well behaved and was smiling, cooing, and flirting with just about everyone. Cole also managed to eat 7 ounces at one feeding! Luckily he is becoming increasingly more efficient and we are down to about 6-8 feedings a day instead of about 16 (which we did from birth all the way up through 6 weeks...hideous).

Afterwards he fell asleep in his carseat and actually allowed me to fill up at the gas station AND go through the Burger King drive-thru for lunch...astounding. Cole ended up sleeping from 12:30pm all the way to 4pm (when I woke him up to feed him).

He also managed to go to sleep tonight WITHOUT his binky (or pacifier if you prefer) which means no waking up every four seconds to shove it back in his mouth...always a positive.

Tomorrow Jake is working the morning/afternoon at St. Vincent and then works 6-midnight at St. Francis...so it won't be a fun day for us. But on a positive note, he does have Sunday off (amazingly enough). I plan to make a Blooming Onion (WITH the sauce from Outback) and Churros (courtesy of Paula Deen) with our brand new, amazing deep fryer. I have pretty much never fried anything in my life, so this should be an adventure. No worries---I am doing no frying without Jake present...hot oil + babies = burning house.
